World class scholar, consultant, business mogul and Action People’s Party APP senate candidate for Imo East Senatorial district, Dr Chima Matthew Amadi has fearlessly stirred the hornet’s nest once again. This time around, he not only revealed the source of his wealth but boldly challenged politicians in Imo state to publicly do the same without delay.
At a meeting with Media Executives in Owerri weekend, Dr Chima Matthew Amadi said his rise to economic stardom actually started after his graduation from the University of Ibadan where he was also elected Secretary General of the Student Union government at the top flight ivory tower.

According to the don, after his graduation from the University of Ibadan, some jobs were offered to him but he declined them all and opted for business and higher degrees’ pursuit.
Amadi revealed that he started hire purchase taxi business with initial capital of N200,000 with which he bought a Nissan car at Ibadan and moved same to Abuja for hire purchase taxi operations.
“Upon my graduation from UI, I rejected some job offers and opted for business and higher degrees. I had resolved to go into taxi operations on hire purchase basis. I had only N200,000. 50,000 naira came from my mother through village thrifting, N150,000 came from my savings and support from my other family members and friends.
Where I stayed in Ibadan had a land border with an African country that brought vehicles to Nigeria for sale. So with my 200,000 naira initial capital, I got a clean Nissan car at N270,000. I paid the balance of N70,000 later. I subsequently moved the car to Abuja and got a man who agreed to use it for taxi operations on hire purchase basis.
My agreement with him was for him to finish payment for the car in one year, but to my surprise, he completed the payment under six months and took the car. I made much gain in that singular business experiment.
I returned to Ibadan and bought another, and continued like that until I got enough capital to diversify into other businesses. Note that I was also pursuing my higher degrees alongside my businesses”.
Dr Amadi informed that what became a boom and the biggest leap in his business trajectory was during former president Obasanjo’s second term during which he banned the importation of sorghum and other beer production materials and insisted that producers must take advantage of the local contents of such materials.
“When I got to know about this policy, I braced up for real business and moved into sorghum supply. I would travel to Funtua in Zamfara state and bought sorghum and other beer production materials in large quantities and supplied them to Nigerian breweries. That business opportunity made me a millionaire in shortest possible time”.
The APP senate candidate for Imo East Senatorial district remarked that being a child of destiny, another opportunity came knocking on his door such that a top United Nations official who had earlier read his scholarly work published in a leading journal, invited him (Amadi) to Norway to present a similar paper at a particular UN event.
“Upon my invitation to Norway for a paper presentation, I got myself well prepared and actually did justice to the topic assigned to me at that UN outing. After the presentation of my well researched paper in Norway, a particular scholar in that country took interest in me. He invited me for a dinner in his house and it was an exciting moment.
This man and his wife might have goggled to know the kind of soup Igbos loved to eat, and had to prepare egusi soup with more than enough stockfish. As we were enjoying the dinner, I saw stockfish everywhere around the man’s house. When I inquired to ascertain how they got the stockfish, the man informed me that his country Norway was leading in stockfish production and export.
After the meal, the man took me to his warehouse and what I saw really marvelled me. I quickly struck a deal with him to commence exportation of stockfish from Norway to Nigeria and other African nations. That singular business deal made me a billionaire. Don’t be surprised that all the stockfish you have been enjoying over the years, were my imported products from Norway”.

The world-class consultant in Nutriceutics and International Relations told the media Executives that his joining the billionaires club in Nigeria wasn’t a day job but a slow and steady one, laced with diligence, business wizardry, integrity and perseverance unlike the present day political leaders who will brazenly loot “our” common wealth to become billionaires overnight.
Dr Chima Matthew Amadi also remarked that aside his business concerns, he makes huge incomes as consultant for numerous organizations abroad and in Nigeria too.
He challenged the ruling class particularly in Imo state to publicly state sources of their wealth, insisting that most of them suddenly became stupendously rich through dubious means without legitimate work or trade but by embezzling public funds meant for the development of our state and nation.
Dr Amadi said his going to the Senate in 2027 would open a new page of quality representation in the history of Imo East senatorial district. He assured that his voice will be loud and heard, such that Ndi Owerri zone will sing a new song as from 2027.
