Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture and Environmental Science (UAES) Umuagwo, Imo state Prof C. C Eze has called on admission seekers in Nigeria and parents too to search no farther but proceed to the Institution for admission into top notch courses that are highly competitive anywhere in the World.
Prof Eze said the university stands out as the best choice university for admission seekers especially those craving for globally competitive programs in Agriculture, Environmental Science, among others.
He made the call on Friday July 3rd while declaring open a skill acquisition workshop for farmers, technologists, farm attendants, agricultural officers and MSc Agrecology students at the Agrecology Rural Farm Laboratory of the University in Umuagwo.
Prof Eze informed that University of Agriculture and Environmental Science Umuagwo is currently running accredited courses in five faculties viz: Faculties of Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Science & Computing and Arts, Social & Management Science.
He advised those who made the university their 1st choice institution and scored 150 and above in their JAMB result to approach the university to purchase post UTME forms for the 2026/2027 academic session admission, and be ready for the screening scheduled to commence this July.
Prof Eze added that candidates who did not consider UAES as their 1st choice institution can also effect change of institution via JAMB portal and still be eligible for the post UTME screening.
Giving more insight on the workshop he had earlier declared open, the Professor of Agribusiness management said the
UEAS Agreco farm project was aimed at equipping participants with practical skills in farming and other agricultural areas for efficiency and productivity.
The Vice Chancellor explained that the three year project at UAES, co-founded by Erasmus+ of the European Union will end this year.
According to him, the the project is part of Gov Hope Uzodimma’s vision in re-establishing and repositioning agriculture for greater productivity and profitability.
In his welcome address, the Coordinator of UAES Farms and Agrecology Rural Lab, Dr Ayo Enwerem said the workshop was not a talk show but a practical step towards pushing attention to agricultural sector to ensure viability and profitability.
Dr Enwerem, the outgoing chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Imo state said participants were going to be conducted round the UAES farms to see things for themselves.
He called on Nigerians to change their perception about agriculture and see new things happen for the good of the citizens.
