The Bishop of Egbu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okorafor, has inaugurated management Boards of for secondary schools within the Diocese, expressing strong confidence in their capacity and expecting the very best from them.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Friday, 1st May, 2026, at Cathedral Church of All Saints, Egbu, drawing clergy, educationists, and stakeholders from across the Diocese.

Delivering his charge, Bishop Okorafor urged the board members to uphold excellence, discipline, and godly leadership, stressing that they have been carefully selected based on proven integrity and competence.
“I expect the best from you,” the Bishop affirmed. “Our schools must reflect both academic excellence and strong Christian character.”
Among those appointed is Prof. Jonathan Okere, who will serve as Chairman of the Board for Mary & Martha Sanctuary Secondary School, Eziobodo, and Prof. Chuka Okonkwo (KSC) member, Board of SS Mary & Joseph Secondary School, Umualum Nekede, underscoring the Diocese’s commitment to strengthening leadership and enhancing educational standards.

It was also clarified that the Principals of the various secondary schools will serve as Secretaries to their respective School Boards, a structure designed to ensure effective coordination, proper documentation, and smooth communication between the Boards and school management.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated Prof. Jonathan Okere (Chairman, MAMSASS) and Dr. Mrs. Chinwe Anyanwu, a member of management Board for Egbu Girls Secondary School, Egbu, expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in them and pledged to discharge their responsibilities faithfully and diligently.
The ceremony featured prayers for divine guidance and wisdom, marking the beginning of a renewed phase of purposeful governance in the Diocese’s educational system.

The inauguration of the Boards is expected to usher in improved administration and a stronger commitment to excellence across all Anglican secondary schools in the Diocese of Egbu.
