The people of Umuhu Atta in Ikeduru Council Area of Imo state as well as the entire members of St Paul’s Anglican church Umuhu parish are expectant and excited this period.
They are anxiously waiting for one of their sons, Ordinand Emeka Ukanacho to be ordained into the Holy Order as Deacon in the Anglican Diocese of Owerri.
Postulant Ukanacho is among the 21 persons to be made Deacons on Sunday July 12, 2026 by the Anglican Bishop of Owerri Diocese, His Lordship, Rt Rev’d (Dr) Chukwuma Opara at Holy Trinity Anglican church Obazu Mbieri.
A release sighted by NIGERIAN NEWSGUIDE indicates that the ordination service is scheduled for 10am.
Some of the members of Umuhu Atta community who recently spoke with our reporter expressed joy and appreciation to God and the Bishop of Owerri Diocese for finding one of their own spiritually fit and worthy to be ordained into Holy Order.
Ordinand Emeka Ukanacho, a spirit-filled and soft spoken Anglican Church worker joined the Diocese of Owerri as a church teacher several years.
Ukanacho’s areas of Ministry include but not limited to counseling, spiritual warfare, radical evangelism, effective prayers and transformation of lives leveraging digital technology.
He is a product of Imo State University Owerri, and had his theological training at Trinity College Umuahia where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Theology (B.Th).
The Parish Priest of Umuhu parish, Rev’d Canon Joshua Meke had earlier sent a goodwill message to Ordinand Emeka Ukanacho on behalf of the parish.
The Deacon-to-be is expected to hold his ordination thanksgiving service and home coming in October this year at St Paul’s Anglican church Umuhu Atta.
