All Progressives Congress has finally and unexpectedly disappointed and shocked many political players, pundits and aspirants in it’s Federal House of Representatives primary elections held today Saturday 16th May, 2026 in Imo state.
Before the long awaited election, all the serving Reps members were upbeat of clinching their return tickets and had reportedly told their opponents to forget spending their resources on deals that would certainly not favour them. But in a twist of event, only four serving lawmakers were fortunate to clinch their return tickets during the primaries.
They are: Akarachi Amadi-Mbaitoli/Ikeduru,
Tochukwu Okere-Owerri, Eugene Dibiagwu-OhajiEgbema/Oguta/Oru West, and Canice Moore Nwachukwu-Orlu/Orsu/Oru East.
The new entrants that broke the jinx in the APC primary election are: Jonas Okeke-Okigwe South, Uchenna Agusu-Okigwe North and Pat Ngozi Ekeji-Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor-Okpala
The rest are: Chukwudi Anyanwuocha-Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise, Sandra Nnenna Anyama-Ideato and Cosmos Madugba-Nkwere/Isu/ Nwangele/Njaba.
Heavyweights like Honorables Chike Okafor, Ugonna Ozurigbo, Miriam Onuoha, and Cubana Chief Priest were not favoured in the contest.
