A visit to Aba the commercial nerve centre of Abia state would leave everyone awed as to the transformational leadership of Gov Alex Chioma Otti.
The city which was once ranked among the dirtiest and most terrible places to live in Nigeria, has today emerged from the woods as one of the cleanest and most habitable cities in Africa’s most populous nation.
Is it in open defecation index, street trading, bad roads, poor electricity supply, indiscriminate dumping of refuse, stagnant drainages?, Aba must indeed be mentioned prior to this time.
But today, the story has changed, the long awaited transformation has come to stay with Gov Alex Otti’s roads and environmental revolution in the Enyimba city.
From Osisioma Flyover to Owerri Road, Ngwa Road to Ala Oji, Azikiwe to Asaa road, Faulks Road to Umule, Ariria market to Port Harcourt roads etc, the story has changed for the better. The roads, streets, lanes and Avenues are now wearing new looks.
One can hardly find motorists littering the roads, no more obstruction of traffic, no more driving against traffic rules, no more gory sites of mentally deranged persons majestically walking up and down, dragging the roads with sound minds.
Drivers and other road users including residents now comport themselves to keep the roads and environments clean.
Today, Aba has semblance of a modern city and no longer that of one obscure glorified semi urban settlement.
Residents of the city reason and act like human beings unlike what is obtainable in neighboring cities.
There is no more presence of Motorcyclists popularly known as okada in the major roads of Aba but Keke tricycle operators and other cab drivers are doing justice to the transportation demands of Aba residents with reasonable charges as some charge a drop for as low as N100 depending on the distance.
Aba has literally come back to life, residents give thanks to Gov Alex Otti for building long abandoned roads as well as putting in place other basic amenities in the city.

We equally urge the governor not to relent but to ensure that more rural areas in the state receive similar attention in order to completely renew and rediscover the entire Abia State.
