Global Institute for Theology and Mission, Irete, Owerri will hold its 3rd convocation ceremony tomorrow Thursday 21st May, 2026 at the Institution’s campus located at Bishop Lasbrey Girls Secondary School Irete Owerri West Council Area of Imo state.
A release by the Director of the Institute, Ven Dr Ferdinand Mbalisi and Registrar, Rev Canon Engr Chidubem Dabrinze says the convocation ceremony will start at 11 am.
The release also indicates that the convocation event shall witness the award of certificates and Advanced Diplomas to graduating students from various departments of the institute.
Bishop of Owerri Anglican Diocese and the Proprietor/Visitor to the institute Rt. Rev’d Dr Chukwuma Opara along with top clerics and members of the laity of the diocese including invited guests are expected at the convocation ceremony which promises to be eventful and historic.
About 40 graduands are expected to receive their certificates and Advanced Diplomas at the 3rd convocation ceremony.
Global Institute for Theology and Mission (GITM) is owned by the Anglican Diocese of Owerri.
The pioneer Director of the institute was Ven Dr Festus Opara who is currently the General Secretary of the Church Nigeria (Anglican Communion) headquartered in Abuja.
